Spangsville Bridge in Winter

$775.00
1 available

18”x24” oil painting on canvas, framed

There’s a different kind of softness and a unique peace when one sits beside a 200 year old structure nestled in snow. Not a sound but for the creek slowly freezing over, a few birds bumping snow off their branches and the release of a long held deep breath.

I’ve done paintings of this bridge a few times telling different stories of love and dreams. This is the first story told at wintertime.

There’s a different kind of softness and a unique peace when one sits beside a 200 year old structure nestled in snow. Not a sound but for the creek slowly freezing over, a few birds bumping snow off their branches and the release of a long held deep breath.

If you look close, you’ll see a yellow goldfinch (distelfink) symbolizing good luck and happiness and some witch hazel flowers whose meaning further develops a story of safety, life ahead and the healing of a broken heart.
