... And We Talked of Beauty in Grey Days (1)

$80.00
Sold Out

8” x 10” oil painting on paper with copper metal leaf, framed

“As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.”
— Ezekiel 34:12

Have you ever looked up at an expansive, dense vacuum of a grey sky and sank? Felt the weight of each and every cloud? Spent the day searching for any bit of color you could?

I have.

It’s baffling how a lack of light can affect our souls so significantly.

One grey day, while exhaustingly searching for any color, any evidence of light

among the impenetrable grey,

I had a thought,

“you know, grey is a color too.”

I looked closer at that grey sky and I noticed just how many different greys were up there.

Warm grey, blue grey, neutral grey, silky grey, stone grey.

And there was light. The light was’t warm, nor was it cold either. The light simply was.

And The clouds weren’t crushing me, like a blanket, they were embracing me.

Grey days are beautiful too. In their way.
