Cherry Blossoms, I Think? (I)
9” x 12” oil painting on paper, framed
these two pieces are both a dream and a love letter. I’ve lived just outside of DC for almost three years now and I’ve missed these blooms every year but the impression I’ve seen them have on the community is as beautiful as the flowers themselves.
I see faces brighten, smiles widen and the most beautiful glint in everyone’s eyes.
These two paintings reflect the lightness in the air around the people to whom the blossoms have given their beauty and the playful, joyous, soft yet vibrant color I imagine fills each petal.
